The rural character of Gill has been preserved, even though the last 50 years has seen a transition from a farming community to a bedroom community. The town offers education, recreation and limited commercial establishments in picturesque, serene surroundings. The heart of the town’s commercial business is found along the Route 2 corridor. A notable landmark is the Gill Store: found in the center of town, it has been a mainstay for over 100years, and is currently under renovation.
